lovelesslust is a contradiction. Two words, "loveless lust", means the opposite of three words, "love less lust". The battle of primal urges against intellectual reasoning. The division of the desire for peace and the need for destruction to allow for more creation. Black and white. Harmony and noise. lovelesslust.

lovelesslust has been a dream of mine since I fell in love with music.  It is the culmination of my life of listening to and obsessing over music, studying endless music theory and studio technology, and critiquing the artistic value of popular artists as a way to discover what I truly want to say and how I want to sound.  lovelesslust is music meant for a dark room, headphones and full volume.

I usually find music to be the most pure and visceral when it's coming from a single artist, as opposed to a group. Without being beholden to any specific instrumentation, they're free to experiment and can develop their sound over time without having to battle egos or compromise their artistic vision. For this reason, I decided not to pursue my first love of playing bass, but to delve into songwriting, production, vocals and multiple instruments.  To add a visual compliment to the music, I've taken up photography and co-produce all of the band's music videos.

In today's musical landscape, anything that doesn't conform to strict genre lines is pretty much required to be independent.  Fortunately, we have the internet.  My goal is to give the best musical experience I can to as many people as possible.  Because I want people to hear the music, I give it away.  Because I want people to see the live shows, I tailor them to high quality webcasts viewable anywhere.  If you like what you hear, you can support the band's independence by buying merchandise, coming to our shows in Los Angeles or making a donation.  It helps keep me focused on the music and not my bank account.

It's important to me to keep growing artistically.  Most bands release a 12-or-so song album once every two to three years, or roughly one song for every two and a half months. As a fan of music, I find myself wanting more content to dive into, and since I don't need additional help recording and mixing I speed up that process for lovelesslust.  Since 2009, I've held myself to releasing songs at a rate of one per month.  I find that the more I write, the more the songs improve. Every song is created honestly and in the moment, some coming easily and some unexpected challenges. The fan letters and feedback I get vary from glowing praise to indifference for every new track, which I see as a success in making each song unique and reaching different people on a personal level with each song.

Thank you for checking out lovelesslust. I try to stay very active building more content on this site, and the best way to keep up on the new happenings is to join the mailing list, add lovelesslust on Facebook or follow on Twitter. I also make it a point to respond to all fan mail, so feel free to give me your feedback or to say hello.

Enjoy my Romantic Perversion.
